Vauxhall Leads UK Electric Car Market in 2024 Vauxhall has emerged as the UK’s best-selling electric car brand in 2024 across both retail and Motability channels. The success of the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric has propelled Vauxhall to the forefront of the electric vehicle market.

Vauxhall has secured its position as the UK’s leading electric car brand in 2024, across both retail and Motability channels. According to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Vauxhall achieved an impressive 8.2% market share in the electric vehicle sector.

The brand’s success is largely driven by the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric, which have helped Vauxhall top the electric sales charts in the combined B-segment. The Corsa Electric remained the UK’s best-selling electric supermini, with over 4,000 units sold last year.

Vauxhall’s total electric car sales reached 15,862 units in 2024, reflecting a 31% increase from the previous year and giving the brand a 4.15% share of the overall electric car market. This performance exceeds Vauxhall’s share of the overall car market, which stands at 4.04%.

In the light commercial vehicle (LCV) sector, Vauxhall also made significant strides, ranking as the UK’s second best-selling van manufacturer (excluding pick-ups) with a 10.08% market share. The Vauxhall Combo was the UK’s second-best-selling compact van, while the Vauxhall Vivaro ranked second in the medium van segment.

James Taylor, Managing Director of Vauxhall, commented, “2024 marked a major milestone for us, as we met our commitment to offer a fully electric version across our entire car and van line-up. With our growing portfolio of electric models, including the refreshed New Frontera and New Grandland, we’re confident that more UK drivers will choose electric with Vauxhall in 2025 and beyond.”
